General Privacy, Terms & Conditions
By using Mag7 Stocks, you agree to these terms. We collect only what's needed to run the site: account details you provide (name, email, and a password that we store only in hashed form), preferences you set, and content you choose to submit (comments, ratings, event listings, price-target alerts). We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). When you create an account you are asked to accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy with a required checkbox, and to confirm the age requirement with another. Newsletter email is a third, separate and optional choice: reading or accepting these policies is never treated as consent to marketing.
Content on this site — news analysis, charts, calculators and commentary — is provided for informational purposes only and is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice. Mag7 Stocks is not a registered investment dealer or adviser. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and cite our sources, but we don't guarantee completeness or timeliness, and market data can be delayed or change quickly. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mag7 Stocks is not liable for losses arising from decisions made using this site.
Terms of Sale — MAG7 Stocks Pro
What you get. MAG7 Stocks Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds the features listed on the Pro sign-up screen (currently: Bear/Base/Bull valuation scenarios, the full Chart Library, CSV exports, unlimited saved portfolios, the 30-year Future Predictor horizon and a Pro badge on your comments). All news and core tools stay free. Pro is attached to your account and works on any device you sign in to. Pro tools are analytical simulators; they are not investment advice and don't predict actual returns.
Price, billing and automatic renewal. Pro is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable sales taxes. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged for the next period, until you cancel. If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
What we keep about your subscription. To give you Pro and show your billing status, your account holds: whether your subscription is active, which plan you are on (monthly or yearly), when the current period ends, whether you have chosen to cancel at the end of it, and the reference numbers Stripe uses for your customer record and subscription. Stripe tells us when a payment succeeds or fails and when a subscription changes or ends, and if a payment fails we email you so you can update your card. This record is removed when your account is deleted, except that billing records may be kept where tax law requires (see Service Providers & Cross-Border Storage).
Cancelling. Cancel any time from My Account → Manage subscription, or by emailing editors@mag7wire.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds. MAG7 Stocks Pro is a digital subscription that is available as soon as you pay, so payments, including renewal payments, are final and non-refundable except where the law requires a refund. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. Failed payments are retried for a short period; if payment can't be collected, Pro ends.
Your statutory rights. This policy does not limit any cancellation or refund right you have under consumer-protection law. For example, consumers in British Columbia can cancel a subscription renewal at any time, before or after the renewal date, and may be entitled to a refund when they cancel after a renewal; we honour those rights. To cancel or to ask about a refund, use My Account → Manage subscription or email editors@mag7wire.com.
Changes and availability. We may add, change or remove individual Pro features; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, you may cancel and request a pro-rated refund for the unused part of your current period. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
Age Requirement & Guardian Consent
Mag7 Stocks is intended for users aged 18 and older. Users between 13 and 17 may use the site only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for reviewing these policies on the minor's behalf and supervising their account activity. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and any account found to belong to a user under 13 will be closed and associated data deleted. When you create an account you are asked to confirm that you meet this requirement. That confirmation is a self-declaration — we do not verify your age — and we keep a dated record of it (see “Consent records” below).
How Data Is Shared & How to Request Deletion
We do not sell personal account data to third parties. Certain content is public by design and visible to all visitors when you submit it — this includes article comments, ratings commentary, leaderboard entries and community-submitted calendar events, which display your name as entered. Account details (email, saved preferences) are not shared publicly.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@mag7wire.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 30 days and will confirm once deletion is complete. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
How Data Is Used & Marketed
We use your account information to operate the site: sending account emails (email confirmation, password resets), sending the newsletter if you opt into it, delivering price-target alerts you set, remembering your preferences, and attributing content you submit. Electronic messages are sent only with your consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing email identifies Mag7 Stocks as the sender, includes our contact information, and contains an unsubscribe link that takes effect within 10 business days (we aim for immediately). You can opt out at any time from the “Email preferences” section of your account, with the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by emailing us.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or share it with advertisers; advertising inquiries submitted through our Advertise page are used solely to evaluate and respond to that inquiry. We use one cookie, a session cookie that keeps you signed in; it is flagged HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Strict, lasts up to 30 days (or until you close your browser if you untick “remember me” when signing in), and is not used for cross-site tracking. We do not set any other cookies (Stripe's hosted checkout page, which you leave our site to use, sets its own). Your browser also stores a few items on your own device only, in its local or session storage: when you last visited, the tool, chart or article you last used and an unsaved portfolio mix (so we can show “Continue where you left off”), when you last dismissed a price-alert reminder, a marker that you were signed in (used only to avoid showing sign-up prompts while a page loads; it does not sign you in), the campaign tags of the first tagged link you arrived on (for example “linkedin” and a campaign name, with the page and date; kept for 30 days and removed once you create an account; see “How you found us” below), and a random identifier for the current visit that is cleared when you close the tab. These items are not used to identify you and are not sent to us, apart from that visit identifier, which is part of the anonymous analytics described below, and the campaign tags, which are sent only if you create an account. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
Consent records. For each account we keep a dated record of what it agreed to: acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy, the age confirmation, and the optional newsletter, including which version of these policies was shown at the time and any later withdrawal. The date is set by our server, and the record contains no IP address or device details. These records are deleted when the account is deleted. You can see them, and change your newsletter choice, under “Email preferences” in your account.
Anonymous analytics. To understand how the site is used, we count page views and a small set of actions (for example, starting to create an account, saving a portfolio, viewing the Pro offer, starting checkout, or returning after some days away). Each record contains only the event type, the page path, the referring site, a broad device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and a random visit identifier held in your browser until you close the tab. It does not contain your name, email address, IP address, password, account, or the contents of your portfolios, and it is not linked to your account. We do not use cookies for this. If a page error occurs, an error report with the error message, script location and page path may also be sent so we can fix it. To guard against abuse, sign-in and similar requests are rate-limited using a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself.
How you found us. If you arrived on Mag7 Stocks through a tagged link in the 30 days before you create an account (for example a link in one of our LinkedIn, Facebook, X or Reddit posts, which carries tags such as utm_source and utm_campaign), we store those tags with your new account: the source, medium, campaign and post names, the page you first landed on and the date. We use them only to count, in aggregate, how many accounts and Pro subscriptions each campaign or post led to, so we know which ones are worth continuing. They contain no IP address, device details or browsing history, are never shared or used for advertising, and are deleted when your account is deleted. If you did not arrive through a tagged link, nothing is stored. You can ask us to delete them at any time by contacting us.
Subscription counts. Separately from the page-view records above, when Stripe tells us that a Pro subscription has started, that a subscriber has chosen to cancel at the end of their period, that a subscription has ended, or that a payment attempt failed, our server adds one line to a running tally. This lets us see how many people subscribe, cancel and run into payment problems. Each line holds only the type of event, the time, and a label showing that our server (not your browser) recorded it. We do not store your name, email address, account, plan, amount or any other identifier on it, and it is not linked to your account in our systems. It is different from the subscription record described under Terms of Sale, which belongs to your account and is deleted with it.
Email delivery and engagement. Our email delivery provider (Resend) tells us what happened to emails we send: whether one was delivered, bounced, or was reported as spam by the recipient, and whether a link in it was clicked. To make clicks countable, links in our emails may pass through our email provider’s link-tracking address before reaching the page. For each event we keep its type, the time, which newsletter issue it concerned (if any) and, so that we can count how many different people clicked, a reference to your newsletter subscription; for a click we keep only the website address and page path of the link, never anything after it, and we do not keep clicks on unsubscribe, email-confirmation or password-reset links. We do not store your email address, IP address or device details in these records, and we do not track whether you open an email. We use this to see which stories readers find useful and to stop emailing people who object: if you report one of our emails as spam, we treat that as withdrawing your consent to marketing email and unsubscribe you. These records are deleted after 180 days, and the reference to your subscription is removed if that subscription is deleted. Our email provider also records these events on its own side as part of providing the service. To stop being counted, unsubscribe from the newsletter; account emails you request (such as password resets) are still sent, and their delivery status is still recorded.
Service Providers & Cross-Border Storage
We rely on third-party providers to operate the site, which may process your information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Depending on the feature, these include our hosting provider, our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare), our database provider (Supabase), our email delivery provider (Resend), our payment processor for Pro subscriptions (Stripe), our market-data provider (Alpaca), and Google Fonts. Your browser also loads fonts directly from Google Fonts and our charting library (Chart.js) from cdnjs, which is operated by Cloudflare; when it does, those providers receive your IP address and ordinary browser details, as they would for any web request. We keep account data while your account is open and delete it within 30 days of a deletion request, except billing records we must keep for tax purposes. These providers receive only what is needed to perform their service, and your information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdictions where it is processed.
Surveys
From time to time, we may invite account holders to participate in optional surveys about their reading habits or feedback on the site. Surveys are only sent to registered accounts, are always optional, and declining has no effect on your access to the site. Survey responses are used in aggregate to improve our coverage and are not sold to third parties.
Apps & Mobile Devices
Mag7 Stocks is currently a web-based experience designed to work in any modern mobile or desktop browser. If we release a dedicated mobile app in the future, it will be governed by these same policies plus any additional permissions (such as push notifications) that you explicitly grant at install time and can revoke through your device settings at any time.
Financial & Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure
The publisher of Mag7 Stocks may hold, buy or sell positions in one or more of the securities discussed on this site, and may do so at any time without notice. Some articles are drafted with AI assistance from public sources; we cite sources but cannot guarantee accuracy. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Do your own research and consult a licensed adviser.
Governing Law
These policies and your use of Mag7 Stocks are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. We may update these policies from time to time; the "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision.
